ABOUT
MAJORITY LEADER
JOHN RUBBO

John Rubbo is a lifelong resident of Yonkers and proud representative

of the 4th Council District. Before his election to the Yonkers City Council,

John was deeply involved in the local community as an active member of

organizations such as the Hyatt Association, Lincoln Park Taxpayers, and

the Yonkers Sons of Italy Lodge.

As a dedicated father of three boys, one of whom attends Yonkers

Public Schools, John is deeply committed to education and believes

strongly that an engaged community is the foundation of our city's success.

He values the strength and impact of active and vocal community members

in District 4 and throughout Yonkers.

A graduate of Iona College (2004), John served six years in city government before pursuing his passion for entrepreneurship. In 2012, he co-founded Yonkers Brewing Co., a thriving local brewery and restaurant that employs 15 part-time and full-time staff. As a business owner, John appreciates the critical role a strong minimum wage plays in the local economy and community wellbeing.

John is deeply passionate about Yonkers and dedicates himself tirelessly to improving the lives of District 4 residents. His mission is to create opportunities for young families, ensuring Yonkers remains affordable and welcoming for generations to come. Ultimately, John’s vision is to build a city his children—and all children—can proudly call home.
